Meet the Doctor
Roy H. Chang D.D.S.
Dr. Chang was born and raised in Southern California. His birthplace, Calexico is a small town near the Mexican border. This explains his affinity for a good soft taco! He grew up in the sleepy community of Eagle Rock that is now famous for where President Obama attended college - Occidental. A typical kid, he gravitated toward sports (especially basketball) and supported the local teams - The Dodgers, Rams and of course the Lakers. In high school, Dr. Chang became intrigued with science, in particular biology. At the same time he enjoyed working with his hands on a small scale, building miniature airplanes, ships, and car models. With these traits in mind, his father and high school drafting teacher suggested dentistry as a career. Dr.Chang went on to college at UCLA and volunteered at the dental school. He enjoyed the classes and lab work immensely and decided to purse dentistry as his career.
Dr. Chang has an undergraduate degree in microbiology from UCLA and graduated from USC School of Dentistry in 1986. Immediately after graduation, he became a part-time restorative and perio instructor for a number of years. For the past 28 years Dr. Chang has been practicing dentistry in Whittier, CA. He took over the practice of his mentor and longtime USC full time faculty member Harry Quint Jr. D.D.S.
His mission is to provide excellent state of the art quality dental care in a warm, friendly and gentle environment. He believes in seeing patients on time and having each appointment completed in a reasonable amount of time. Safety and cleanliness is always a priority.
